WEST DEPTFORD, NJ (October 7, 2009)--Keith DiMarino, president, DocuVault Delaware Valley (DDV), West Deptford, NJ is one of 22 volunteers who donated time to support and organize the 2nd Annual "Calling All Angels" Gala to be held tomorrow, Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Merion Caterers, Cinnaminson, NJ. The event is expected to draw more than 500 attendees and raise more than $100,000 for victims of child abuse, based on the $79,000 raised last year in September at the first event of its kind held at Tavistock Country Club, Haddonfield, NJ.
C.A.R.E.S. (Child Abuse Research and Education Services) Institute of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, an internationally recognized leader in providing evidence-based treatment to children and families and training doctors and therapists in best practices around the world, is the beneficiary of the "Calling All Angels" event. C.A.R.E.S. Institute treats more than 2,000 children annually in the lower seven New Jersey counties. Forty percent of these children are under the age of six. In addition, there is a waiting list of children to be helped and healed from the trauma of abuse.
"The money raised from the Gala will go toward healing children in need," said DiMarino. "Given that the combined cost of medical and mental health services is approximately $4,900 per child today, the necessity to raise as much money as possible for these children is huge."
DiMarino has a history of giving back. A recent addition to the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) Board of Directors, DiMarino and fellow board members provide support through resources and action, with regard to critical public policy issues. According to GPCC's Vice President of Marketing Tara Orio, in this arena board members act as informed advocates for the business community and general public.
In 2008, DiMarino was named a finalist in the NJBIZ Business of the Year Awards Competition in the category of Corporate Citizen of the Year. Through the awards, NJBIZ honors businesses and business leaders who have made significant contributions to the growth, strength and success of the state of New Jersey. According to NJBIZ, finalists are a select group of companies and individuals who have achieved notable success and demonstrated strong leadership in and commitment to both their industries and their communities.
Raised in Woodbury, NJ, today DiMarino lives close to his business in West Deptford and serves on the board of directors of the Woodbury Olde City Restoration Committee (WORC) as vice president. He also is a member of The Executive Network of Southern New Jersey as well as the Philadelphia Business Leaders Alliance (PBLA).
A graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, DiMarino began his professional career as a district vice president for Denver, Colorado-based DocuVault, a records management and data vaulting company. In June 2008, DiMarino took control of DDV by buying out the Denver company's stake.
